How to Share for Whole Person Care
Alameda County Safety Net providers are working together to improve continuity and reduce fragmentation of services for our residents. One way to do that is to share, with needed consents and security, consumers’ medical, behavioral health, social services and housing information among providers working with the consumer. This course reviews the basics of privacy laws (including HIPAA) and goes over real-life situations where staff may be in the position of deciding what and how to share information. This course also facilitates open dialogue about concerns around sharing consumer data while providing an opportunity for you to understand why Whole Person Care supports data sharing.
