Working together in coalition and collaborating across silos and sectors, Senior Services Coalition is advancing policy change to strengthen the network of services that help older Alameda County residents live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.

We know that meaningful improvements to the system of aging services can only happen when stakeholders unite to address injustice and the economic, social and health inequities that are deeply rooted in structural racism and ageism.

MASTER PLAN FOR AGING

Shaped by local stakeholders in our county and across the state, California’s Master Plan for Aging is a blueprint that is being used by state government, local communities, private organizations and philanthropy to shape policy and systems. The MPA represents a golden opportunity for stakeholders to work together to address the many issues that impact older people in communities across the state, and to do so with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.

THE WILMA CHAN & MALISSA RANDOLPH POLICY ADVOCACY FELLOWSHIP

The new fellowship makes it possible for rising advocates to work at Senior Services Coalition, learning the issues and policy advocacy skills needed to advance solutions. This Fellowship is our way to honor and remember two champions:  Wilma Chan, a public servant of the highest order and Malissa Randolph, who like so many others, was a caretaker to her family.
