CalFresh and SSI Outreach Campaign Kick-off

This event is for all partners who want to spread the news about the expansion of CalFresh to people receiving SSI/SSP, come June 1st. Join the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for the campaign kick-off for expanding CalFresh to people receiving SSI/SSP to improve food access for seniors and people with disabilities. This event is for all partners who want to spread the exciting news that SSI recipients may also receive CalFresh food benefits and can apply beginning June 1st. Get access to key outreach tools such as posters, messaging, and more! Help inform the community and share the news for people to apply. Please note, space is limited for in person registration; however, a livestream is available.

From Surviving to Thriving: Older Adults & Trauma Informed Care

DayBreak’s Spring conference will spotlight the unique needs of older adults who suffer from trauma. Together, you’ll learn how interdisciplinary teams can work together to better care for their clients suffering from trauma, and to better care for themselves by addressing secondary (or vicarious) trauma to providers.

The wonderful keynote speakers are:
– Dr. Joy DeGruy PhD, a nationally and internationally renowned researcher, educator, author and presenter. She is the author of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome — America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing.

– Dr. Joyce Mikal-Flynn, a nationally and internationally recognized expert on survivorship and post traumatic growth (PTG), who created a clinical pathway called Metahabilitation.
